How to Repair the Driver-Side Window on a Mazda MPV

Damage done to your Mazda MPV, despite what you might think, is not always difficult to repair. For instance, a crack in the driver-side window is one of the easiest do-it-yourself repairs that can be done, requiring little time and effort. It is important the right supplies are available for the repair to be done correctly.

Things You'll Need

  • Mild soap
  • Water
  • Bucket
  • Sponges
  • Soft cloths
  • Safety goggles
  • Suction cup stabilizer
  • Injector
  • Resin tube
  • Adhesive curing film
  • Clean the window with regular soap and water. Use a soft cloth or sponge, and then dry the area completely before proceeding.

  • Put your safety goggles on, then place the suction stabilizer over the crack. Push down on it to create intense suction between the cup and the glass.

  • Place the injector into the suction cup, then put the resin tube into the injector.

  • Remove the injector, and push the resin into the crack through the suction cup. The natural vacuum will suck the resin out of its tube and into the crack.

  • Put a strip of the adhesive film over the resin, and allow it to cure for several hours.

  • Pull the film off of the repair, and remove any excess resin with the razor blade and soap and water.
