A two post auto lift is an automotive tool that is designed to lift vehicles a few feet into the air for under-vehicle maintenance. The two post auto-lift consists of two metal posts that are connected by a metal beam, hydraulic gear and arms to lift the vehicle. This type of machinery is very expensive and heavy duty. When installing post lifts, it is important to use freshly cured concrete. Old or cracked concrete can lead to the post-lifts falling over when a vehicle is lifted.
Position your post-lift set-up vertically on its mounts and on the concrete. The mounts must be at least six inches away from any cracks in the concrete, or from the edges of the slab. Mark an "X" inside each hole. Move the mounts away from the marked areas so you have room to drill.
Drill eight six inch deep holes into the concrete where you marked the "X's". Be sure the holes are drilled perpendicularly to the concrete.
Position your post-lifts back over the the holes, so the mounting holes are aligned with the concrete holes.
Pound each anchor bolt through the mounting brackets and into the holes in the concrete. Do not to affect the threads on the bolts. Leave half an inch of the anchor bolt above the mounting bracket.
Place a washer and then a nut around each bolt, and hand tighten them down. Use your wrench to finish tightening them. Only turn them two to three full turns. If the bolts are able to be pulled out, or they do not bite, you will have to relocate the mounts, and drill another set of holes.
