How to Install Pro Comp ES3000 Shocks

ProComp is a manufacturer of a wide variety of different aftermarket products, most of them in the 4x4 performance realm. They make ES3000 shock absorbers, which are used to dampen the ride on your truck or SUV, most often in the rear suspension. If you want to install ProComp ES3000 shocks on your vehicle, you can do so with some basic tools and a little bit of time. This should take under 30 minutes to do.

Things You'll Need

  • Jack
  • Jack stands
  • Wheel chocks
  • Tire iron
  • 3/8-inch ratchet and socket set
  • ProComp ES3000 shocks
  • Put the head of the jack underneath the rear axle of the vehicle. Put wheel chocks around the front wheels. Lift up the jack and put jack stands under the rear axle. Lower and remove the jack.

  • Unbolt the upper shock mounts from the frame with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Unbolt the lower shock mount located on the axle with the 3/8-inch ratchet and socket. Pull the stock shock off of the frame and axle and discard it.

  • Lift the vehicle off the stands with the jack. Lower the vehicle down and pull the wheel chocks out from around the front wheels.
