How to Connect OBD2 to PC

An OBD2, or OBDII, is a type of computer hardware diagnostics machine that is compatible with both laptop and desktop computers, as well as with a variety of other types of electronics equipment. The OBD2 will run a consistency check on any device it is connected to, making sure that no errors are present and that the hardware is functioning properly. The OBD2 connects to any personal computer using its included USB cable.

  • Locate the USB input on the side of your OBD2. Connect one end of the included USB cable to this USB input.

  • Connect the other end of the included USB cable to any available USB input on your desktop or laptop PC.

  • Turn on both your PC and the OBD2. Your OBD2 is now connected to your PC and the on-board diagnostics menu will now load on its LED screen.
