How to Troubleshoot a Chrysler Concorde Temperature Control Panel

The temperature control panel on your Chrysler Concorde controls the fan speed and temperature settings for the vehicle. Your Concorde's temperature control panel should provide years of trouble-free service. However, an electrical short, or rough handling of the plastic controls can break the various knobs and buttons on the control panel. Replacement panels are very expensive and must be purchased from a Chrysler dealership. Before you replace anything, however, you should troubleshoot the problem.

  • Open the fuse panel under the steering column and pull out the fuse for the radio and the heater using the fuse puller in the fuse panel. Use the diagram on the underside of the fuse panel if you are having trouble locating the fuses for these components.

  • Check the metal strip in both fuses. If they are damaged or broken, replace the fuse with a new fuse of the same amperage.

  • Turn the fan on and slide the fan control to the highest setting. Then, check all of the buttons to verify that everything is working OK. If the unit will not power on, but the fuse is OK for the radio (the temperature controls run through the radio wiring), you will need to have your temperature control module serviced or replaced. If the power does come on, but does not respond to any of your inputs, you may need to have the unit serviced and you may not need the unit replaced.
