How to Program a Remote to Unlock the Door for a 1994 Corvette

The 1994 Chevy Corvette came standard with a passive keyless entry system. This system is designed to automatically unlock and lock the doors when you enter or leave a 10-to-15-foot distance from the car. The PKE system can support a maximum of three wireless transmitters -- all of which need to be programmed at the same time.

Making the Magic Happen

  • Place all wireless transmitters 15 feet away from your Corvette. Turn the ignition on, but don't start the engine. Press and release the "Trip ODO" button on the driver information center. Press and hold the button again for five seconds. Within five seconds of releasing the "Trip ODO" button, Press and hold the "Fuel Info" button for 10 seconds -- the "PKE" light on the DIC should illuminate. Turn the ignition off, but don't remove the key. The "PKE" light will begin flashing.

Bring the first wireless transmitter into the vehicle and observe the "PKE" light. The "PKE" light will quit flashing to confirm the transmitter has been programmed. Take the now programmed remote out of range of the vehicle. To program a second or third remote, bring them into range one at a time. Do not attempt to program more than one transmitter at a time. When you are done programming, remove the key from the ignition and exit the vehicle.
