The 2007 Honda Pilot came equipped with a 3.5-liter V-6 VTEC engine capable of producing 244 horsepower and 240 foot-pounds of torque. Three trim levels were available in 2007: EX, LX and EX-L, all with the same engine. Government crash tests gave the 2007 Honda Pilot five-star ratings for both front and side impacts. When the vehicle's battery no longer accepts a charge, it's time to replace the battery with a new one.
Place the 2007 Honda Pilot in park and set the parking brake.
Open the hood and locate the battery on the right front of the engine compartment as you face the engine.
Remove the plastic nut holding the positive cable in place.
Use the 10 mm open-end wrench to remove the metal battery holder that keeps the battery in place. Set the holder aside.
Detach the negative cable on the battery using the 10 mm open end wrench. Position it away from any metal components.
Remove the positive cable by first loosening the nut with a 10 mm open-end wrench.
Lift out the battery and set it aside in a safe location.
Clean the negative and positive cable ends using the battery terminal cleaner. Run the small brush of the battery terminal cleaner on the inside of each cable until its surface shines.
Place the new battery into the spot vacated by the old battery. Ensure the positive terminal is on the left and the negative terminal is on the right.
Reattach the cables in the reverse of the order removed. Secure the metal holding bracket and positive cable in place opposite of the manner in which they were removed. Snug the battery holding bracket securely so the battery does not remove.
