How to Fix a Broken Handle on a Chevy Impala

The door handle of your Chevrolet Impala is contained on the inner door panel. If the door handle is broken due to an accident or some other reason, you should fix it. The simplest way to repair the handle is to use some form of adhesive, such as glue, to reattach it. The downside is, you might end up breaking the handle again. The safest option is to simply replace the entire handle assembly.

  • Install a replacement assembly and secure it by reinstalling the four screws.

  • Reattach the door trim panel and reconnect its electrical connector. Reattach the eight bolts.

  • Reinstall the armrest, then close the door. Reconnect the battery of the Impala and close the hood.
