How to Remove a Pontiac Solstice Dash

There are a number of reasons why you may wish to remove the dash from your Pontiac Solstice. You may wish to upgrade it to something different or it may become damaged and require replacement. Over time constant sun exposure can cause the material that makes up the dash to expand, causing holes and cracks within your dash. If this occurs you must remove it in order to either remove or replace it.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Adjustable wrench
  • Open up the hood of your Solstice and locate the battery. Use a wrench to remove the clamp bolt from the negative battery terminal. Remove the negative cable from the terminal.

  • Enter the drivers seat of your vehicle and carefully remove all the knobs and dials from the dashboard. Place them in a safe place as you will need to reattach them when it comes to reinstalling the dash.

  • Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the two screws attach to each of the air vents. Remove the vents from the vehicle. Locate the rest of mounting screws on the top of the dash and use the screwdriver to remove them.

  • Open up the glove compartment and remove the mounting screws which hold it in place. Lift the glove compartment away from the dash. Remove the rest of the screws on the lower section of the dash.

  • Carefully remove all of the dashboard panels one at a time until you have completely removed the dash from the vehicle. Take care not to damage any of the interior as you remove the panels.
