How to Replace the Chevy Bowtie Emblem on a 2002 Avalanche

The bowtie on a 2002 Chevy Avalanche can become scratched or scuffed over time. Fortunately it can also be changed out and replaced very easily. You can also replace the factory bowtie emblem with an aftermarket or custom emblem to give your Avalanche a unique look. The bowtie can easily be removed and replaced in under 10 minutes, using no tools or help.

  • Open the hood of your 2002 Chevy Avalanche. Look down in front of the engine, just behind the grill on the front of the Avalanche. There are plastic clips visible behind the bowtie emblem.

  • Reach down behind the grill to the clips. Release the clips by squeezing them together slightly while pushing them in at the same time. Push the emblem out and use the other hand to pull it from the outside.

  • Place the new emblem over the area where the old one was removed. Line up the clips so that they fit through the holes where the other clips were. Push the emblem into place until you hear the clips click and lock into place. Close the hood.
