How to Replace the Windshield Washer Nozzles on a Pontiac Vibe

There's nothing more annoying, or in some cases dangerous, than a dirty windshield. However, that's what will happen if the windshield washer nozzles on your Pontiac Vibe break. Your Pontiac Vibe has two washer jets on each side of the hood. These nozzles are responsible for squirting water from your washer fluid reservoir onto your windshield. You need to replace them as soon as possible if they break. You can do this easily yourself.

Things You'll Need

  • Needle-nose pliers
  • Flathead screwdriver
  • Replacement washer nozzles
  • Open the hood of your Vibe and locate the underside of each washer nozzle. They are located on the left and right of each side of your hood, close to the windshield.

  • Locate the small pieces of rubber tubing that attach to each nozzle. Remove these from each nozzle with a pair of needle-nose pliers. These tubes deliver fluid from your washer reservoir.

  • Slide a flathead screwdriver under the edge of the nozzle casing on the passenger-side hood.

  • Push on the inside of the back of the passenger nozzle from under the hood while prying gently upward with the screwdriver until the nozzle pops out. Repeat this procedure for the nozzle on the other side.

  • Push the new nozzles into place, working from the top, outside until they pop into place.

  • Replace the tubing on the ends of each nozzle, using needle-nose pliers to work the tubing back into place.
