How to Remove the Center Cap From a F350 Dually

The center cap on the F350 Dually covers the hub assembly on the end of the rear axle. This adds additional protection against the elements when you are driving your F350. The cap secures to the backside of the outer wheel on the Dually and is relatively straightforward to remove. In fact, all of the tools you need are supplied with the Ford F350 when you purchase it from the dealership.

Things You'll Need

  • Jack
  • Tire iron
  • Loosen the lug nuts on the rear wheel from which you want to remove the center cap, using the tire iron supplied with the Ford.

  • Place the jack supplied with the truck under the frame directly in front of the rear wheel.

  • Jack up the truck until the rear wheel is off the ground.

  • Remove the lug nuts and pull the outer wheel off the vehicle. Because you are leaving the inner wheel on the wheel studs, there is no need for a jack stand.

  • Position the outer tire so you can press against the center cap with your left hand and catch it using your right hand.

  • Push on the center cap with your left hand until it frees from the wheel.
