The daytime running lamps are an important safety component of your BMW vehicle. If they begin to malfunction, they should be replaced as soon as possible as they help prevent against accidents. In addition, driving with a faulty light can result in a traffic ticket in most states. The bulb removal process is fairly simple and only requires about 10 minutes.
Park the vehicle and remove the keys from the ignition. Open and secure its hood.
Open the folding cover in the front corner of the engine compartment.
Rotate the bulb cover cap and remove it. Unscrew the bulb holder counterclockwise and remove it from the vehicle.
Remove the bulb from the holder and replace, if necessary. Place the holder back into the vehicle and screw it clockwise to secure it.
Place the cap back onto the vehicle and close the folding cover. Close the hood.
