Where Is the Blower Motor Located on a Chevy Venture?

The blower motor in your Venture circulates the heat emitted from the heater core throughout the interior of the van. Your blower motor is a durable part, and with normal use, it should typically last the lifespan of your Venture. Electrical short circuits and loose wiring connections are both known causes of blower motor malfunction. You can locate your Chevy Venture’s blower motor within 10 minutes right at home. Removing and installing a new blower, if needed, will take an additional 30 minutes to do.

Things You'll Need

  • Flashlight
  • Socket wrench set
  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Torque screwdriver
  • Open the front passenger door on your Venture and move the seat back as far as it will go.

  • Kneel down inside the door opening and position yourself so that you can see beneath the van’s dashboard. Shine a flashlight under the dashboard. If your Venture has silencing trim blocking you from seeing beneath the dashboard, remove the bolts securing the trim with a socket wrench.

  • Shine the flashlight onto the right upper side beneath the dashboard. In the corner just above the glove box door, you will see a round, black metal canister. This is the blower motor. To remove the blower motor, first disconnect the negative battery cable with a socket wrench. Unplug the small wiring harness just below the blower motor. Remove the three Phillips head screws from the metal plate that surrounds the blower motor. Remove the defective blower motor then reverse the removal steps to install a new blower motor.
