Replacing Hyundai Tiburon Headlights

There is no need to take your Tiburon to a mechanic to replace the headlights, as the they are easily accessible through the engine compartment and require no major parts to be removed. The job can be done in minutes.

  • Turn off the car.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the back of the headlight assembly.

  • Unscrew the bulb cover on the back of the headlight by turning it counterclockwise, and remove it.

  • Unplug the electrical connector from the back of the bulb by pulling it straight out from the bulb.

  • Press in on the metal bulb retaining spring to pop it loose, and move it out of the way. Slide the old bulb out of the socket.

  • Slide a new bulb into the socket. Do not touch the glass of the bulb. Grip the bulb by its plastic base. Snap the retaining clip back into place.

  • Plug the electrical connector into the end of the new bulb. Replace the bulb cover and plug the power cord into the back of the headlight assembly.
