How to Repair the Wiper Motor in a Dodge Caravan

The wiper motor in your Dodge Caravan uses a wiper motor circuit board to control the function of the wipers. The circuit board, like any circuit board module, can become damaged from electrical shock or physical damage. If the circuit board becomes damaged, your wiper motor will not work. Unfortunately, you will not be able to purchase a new circuit board module from most auto parts stores. Some salvage yards may be able to find a working circuit board module for your Caravan, however.

Things You'll Need

  • Torx bit screwdriver
  • Replacement circuit board module
  • Open the hood and disconnect the electrical connector running to the wiper motor.

  • Loosen and remove the three Torx bit screw bolts that hold the Caravan's wiper motor housing in place.

  • Pull the wiper motor housing up and off the wiper motor assembly.

  • Pull the wiper motor circuit board up and out of the wiper motor assembly. You may need to pull the board toward you slightly before lifting the board out of the motor assembly.

  • Insert the new circuit board module and put the motor back together. Installation is the reverse of removal. Reconnect the electrical connector to the wiper motor.
