The instrument panel on an Oldsmobile Silhouette is held in place with 4 screws and is covered by a bezel. Occasionally, the panel malfunctions and needs to be replaced. The most common reason for failure of the panel is an electrical short, which can happen at any time for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately, there is no service life for the instrument panel. If you ever need to work on the gauge cluster or remove the instrument panel, the first step is removing it.
Remove the two screws on the underside of the cowl on the instrument panel bezel.
Remove the bezel by pulling it off the instrument panel.
Remove the four screws that hold the instrument panel in place.
Pull the instrument panel forward and disconnect the electrical connector from the back. Remove the instrument panel.
