How to Change Lexus Tires

Knowing how to change a car tire is a skill everyone should master. Drivers never know when a flat tire could occur. There are areas around the country where auto repair services are unavailable. These might even be dangerous situations where you will need to change your tire yourself. Thus, it is imperative that every driver knows how to change a car tire. Lexus drivers are no exception. In every Lexus automobile there is a full-sized spare tire located in the trunk underneath the removable panel. Here you will find your tire and all the tools you will need to change your tire.

Things You'll Need

  • Car Jack
  • Lug-nut wrench
  • Spare Tire
  • Remove your spare tire, lug nut wrench, and jack from underneath your removable trunk panel.

  • Loosen each of the lug nuts on your flat or damaged tire. You must loosen the lug nuts while the car is still on the ground. To do so, insert your wrench into each lug nut and using a large amount of force, twist your wrench counter-clockwise.

  • Insert your jack under your car in the designated area in front of your axle. If the flat tire is in the back, your jack point will be in front of your rear axle. If your flat is in your front set of tires, your jack point will be behind your front axle.

  • Pop the curled end of your lug nut wrench into the slot on your jack. Twist your wrench clockwise to raise your jack. Make sure you raise your jack enough where your flat tire is six inches off the ground.

  • Remove your lug nut wrench from your jack, and unscrew your lug nuts completely.

  • Remove your flat tire, and insert your spare tire in its place. Tighten your lug nuts on your new tire until they are firmly in place.

  • Lower your jack until your Lexus automobile is back firmly on the ground. Next, remove your jack and completely tighten the lug nuts on your spare tire.

  • Place your flat tire under your trunk panel where your spare tire was once held. Return your jack and wrench to the trunk.
