Instructions for a Rockford Fosgate Punch 360

The Rockford Fosgate Punch 360 is two-channel power amplifier. It is also called the Punch 360.2 because of it's 2-channel output. The amplifier is rated at 90 watts per channel (at four ohms) or bridged 360 watts (single-channel four ohms.) The amplifier is very small, which makes it easy to mount in tight locations. This amplifier is ideal for component speaker systems or for a small, lower powered subwoofer. Installing the Rockford Fosgate 360 should take less than an hour.

Things You'll Need

  • Allen wrenches 9/64 inch and 3/32 inch (included)

  • Wire strippers
  • Battery post wrench
  • Electric hand drill w/assorted bits
  • Wire cutter
  • 17 feet (518.16cm) red power wire
  • Assorted connectors
  • RCA cables
  • 12 feet (365.76cm) remote turn-on wire
  • Wire crimpers
  • 1.5 feet (45.72cm) black grounding wire
  • Fuse
  • Mount the amplifier. The amplifier should be mounted vertically for optimal cooling potential. Mount the amplifier on the floor of the trunk of the car or along the side walls of the trunk.

  • Remove the negative battery terminal connection. This will keep the work environment safe.

  • Connect the RCA cables. Plug the RCA audio cables into the head-unit's "Pre-Amp" out ports. Run the RCA audio cables to the Rockford Fosgate 360's "Audio In" ports and plug them in.

  • Connect the remote lead wire to the head-unit's "Power Antenna" cable. Run the remote lead wire to the amplifier and plug it into the "REM" remote lead terminal.

  • Connect the first speaker. Attach the left channel positive speaker wire to the Rockford Fosgate 360's "Left Channel Positive Speaker Out." Attach the other end of this cable to the left channel speaker's positive power terminal. Attach the left channel negative speaker wire to the Rockford Fosgate 360's "Left Channel Negative Speaker Out." Attach the other end of this cable to the left channel speaker's negative power terminal.

  • Connect the second speaker. Attach the right channel positive speaker wire to the Rockford Fosgate 360's "Right Channel Positive Speaker Out." Attach the other end of this cable to the right channel speaker's positive power terminal. Attach the right channel negative speaker wire to the Rockford Fosgate 360's "Right Channel Negative Speaker Out." Attach the other end of this cable to the right channel speaker's negative power terminal.

  • Connect the red power wire to the amplifier's +12 Volt power terminal. Connect the black power wire to the amplifier's ground terminal. Run both of these cables to the car's battery.

  • Attach a fuse to the end of the power wire approximately one foot from the end of wire. To do this cut off a foot of wire from the end of the cable and insert one end of that wire into the fuse. Connect the other end of the fuse to the power wire leading to the amplifier.

  • Connect the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery. Connect the now fused power wire to the positive terminal of the battery.

  • Connect the battery cable. Turn on the car and test out the stereo.
