How to Remove the Rear Speaker Panel on a 2000 Dodge Neon

The 2000 model year Dodge Neon came equipped with speakers in the front door and rear deck. You may have decided to replace them with upgraded speakers, which have certainly benefited from technological advancements since the car was made. To gain access to the speakers in the rear deck, you must remove the panel covering them. Most owners will be able to accomplish this in less than an hour, utilizing readily available hand tools.

Things You'll Need

  • Panel removal tool
  • Torx T50 driver
  • Grip the front edge of the bottom seat cushion in the rear of the car and lift it firmly upwards. Remove the seat cushion from the vehicle when it's loose.

  • Remove two Torx T50 bolts from below the seat back cushion. These hold the seat back and seat belts in position. Lift the seat back and remove it from the car when you have removed the bolts.

  • Lift up on the center of the rear deck panel, making it bow slightly in the center. Slide the panel out, pulling the left side out first, then the right.
