How to Install a Car Window Decal With No Air Bubbles

Adding window decals to your car is a great way to personalize your ride. But a car window decal with air bubbles can look sloppy and give people a poor impression. If you follow a few simple tips, you can apply your decal quickly and cleanly, with no air bubbles.

Things You'll Need

  • Glass cleaner Paper towels Sharpie permanent marker Decal Scotch tape
  • Clean any dirt off of the window with glass cleaner and paper towels.

  • Place your car window decal in the spot where you'd like it to be. Hold it temporarily in place with a few small pieces of tape. Step back from the window and make sure it's in the position you'd like.

  • Mark the edges of where the decal will be on the window with your marker. A heavy line is not necessary. Just make a few dots to give you guides for the location.

  • Remove the decal and tape from the window. Peel off the backing from one end of the decal.

  • Apply the decal, working from one end to the other. Slowly remove the backing as you go and press down firmly as you move along. If you start to see a bubble appear, slowly peel back until it disappears and resume placing the decal until you've finished.
