Haldex Barnes Corporation Hydraulic Pump Specifications

The John S. Barnes Corporation, established in 1929, was acquired in 1987 by a group of companies that was to become Haldex AB. In 1997, Haldex AB reconfigured itself into its three major divisions; one of those divisions is Haldex Barnes Hydraulics, a leading manufacturer of hydraulic pumps. Haldex Barnes offers a wide selection of hydraulic pumps aimed at different applications with a wide range of technical specifications.

W series

  • The W series is Haldex Barnes flagship line of hydraulic gear pumps and is indicated as a high performance line. This line of pumps is also meant to be versatile. It states in the company’s literature that the various W series pumps are suited for wide array of duties. The lines in this series are available with many optional features from types of shafts to valve configurations.

W300 Series

  • The W300 Series are high-pressure gear pumps that have been “optimized for demanding work, with harsh weather conditions, rugged operations and long service intervals,” according to the company, They have an 11-tooth gear geometry and are available with displacement ratings of .8 cc to 5.7 cc and maximum speed ratings of 3,800 to 6,000 rpm. The ratings for continuous pressure on these pumps go from 145 to 230 [BAR]. The average volumetric efficiency is 97 percent. A BAR is a widely used measurement of pressure that is equal to 14.5 PPS or pounds per square inch (see Resources 3).

W600 Series

  • The W600 Series pumps are compact with a through bore bushing style design. They are constructed of high-strength aluminum and cast iron. According to Haldex Barnes, these pumps are suitable for a wide range of applications including: material handling, agriculture and construction. They are available with displacement ratings of 3 to 12 cc and maximum speeds of 2,500 to 4,000rpm. Their maximum continuous pressure ratings range from 186 to 276 [BAR].
Their average volumetric efficiency is 98 percent and their input power rating goes from 1.51 to 4.07kw at 1,000rpm.

W1200 Series

  • The W1200 Series of high-performance gear pumps was designed for applications that require a specific displacement range. This line also has the high-strength aluminum and cast iron construction with the through bore bushing design. It features a 14-tooth gear geometry. The pumps in this line are available with displacement ratings of 25 to 33cc and a maximum speed rating of 3,000rpm. The maximum continuous pressure rating of this line is 214[BAR]. The average volumetric efficiency for the series is 98 percent and the input power rating ranges from 9.90 to 13.06kw at 1,000rpm.

GC Series

  • Th GC Series is Haldex Barnes’ line of compact, external gear pumps. This series is indicated for such varied applications as agricultural equipment, machine tools and robotics. These pumps are constructed of cast iron and steel and are available with displacement ratings of 1.07 to 11.65cc. They have maximum flow ratings of 1 to 11gpm and maximum continuous pressure ratings that range from 83 to 207[BAR].
