Nu Finish is a car polish introduced on the market in 1976. Nu Finish is famous for its ability to make an older car shine like new with one yearly application. It is used primarily on the painted surface of a car. Nu Finish is available in a liquid base polish or paste and is applied with a damp cloth; after drying it will protect your car's finish. If you use Nu Finish on a surface such as plastic trim, vinyl or rubber you will notice a white residue that you may want to remove.
Open the mineral spirits and pour a small amount into the bowl.
Put the gloves on. Place and hold a dry towel between the painted surface and the plastic trim to prevent the mineral spirits from coming into contact with the paint.
Dip the toothbrush in the mineral spirits and brush the wax-affected area with the toothbrush in a circular motion. Do this for a few minutes, giving the mineral spirits time to break up the wax residue.
Wipe the treated area with a clean, dry towel.
Wait a few minutes and inspect the treated area. If white residue is still present, repeat the process of cleaning with mineral spirits.
