Goo Gone, a commercial oil-based solvent and cleaner, has been deemed safe by its manufacturer for use on almost any surface, including your car's exterior paint. Spray Goo Gone directly onto the stained area located on your car's paint.
Allow the solvent to remain on the stain for three to five minutes so that it can penetrate the stain.
Wipe the stain away with a clean, dry white cloth.
Fill a small container with water and add three to four drops of liquid dish soap. Agitate the water with your hands to form bubbles. Fill another small container with plain water.
Dip a nonabrasive sponge into the soapy water. Squeeze the sponge gently to remove excess liquid. Wash the area that was previously cleaned with Goo Gone to remove any oily residue from the paint.
Dip a clean, dry cloth into the container of plain water. Squeeze gently to remove extra water. Rinse the cleaned area to remove soap residue. Dry the area with a clean, dry cloth.
