Vinyl seats on pontoon boats are exposed to all kinds of weather in a marine environment. This means the seats need special care or they will not stand up to the elements for as long as they should. Pontoon seats need to kept clean and dry. The amount of time you spend maintaining your pontoon vinyl seats will not be wasted because it will be easier to prevent staining and damage than it will be if you wait until there is a problem.
Fill a bucket with warm water and dip the soft cloth into the water. Wring out the excess water and wipe the surface of the seats. Dry the seats with a soft, absorbent towel. This should be done once a week because it will prevent staining and deeper cleaning problems.
Pour a teaspoon of dish detergent into the bucket and fill it about half way with warm water. This is for times when the seats need a deeper cleaning than water alone can offer.
Dip the scrub brush into the soapy water and then let the excess water drip off.
Scrub the surface of the vinyl paying extra attention to deeply soiled spots and seam lines.
Wipe the surface of the vinyl with a clean absorbent towel.
Mist the vinyl-protecting spray over the surface of the vinyl seats. Let it soak in for 5 to 10 minutes, scrub any surface stains on the seats, and then wipe the spray off with a soft cloth.
