Add your name, initials or nickname to your car seat covers at a custom embroidery emporium. This service is offered at many printing and custom t-shirt companies. They often use digital machines allowing you to choose from an array of fonts.
Purchase car seat covers before taking them to the embroidery shop. Choosing neutral colored seat covers such as black, white, gray or brown will allow you to easily add personality to them with brightly colored thread. For example, turquoise, red, purple or orange all go perfectly with black.
Create a detailed description sheet of your order, including the words you want embroidered, font and thread color, as well as where you want the embroidered design placed on your car seat covers. It will take from two to six weeks for delivery.
Customize your seat covers with your favorite sports team logo, children’s cartoon character or images of flowers. Start by going to your local fabric shop to find fabric with images that you like.
Choose images that are large and easy to cut out. While at the fabric store, buy matching thread and iron-on interfacing. Cut the images out of your fabric along with the interfacing.

Use the rubber bands to section off large and small areas of your seat covers where the designs will be created.
Place each color of dye in a large bucket, following the package instructions. Begin dipping each section of your seat covers into your choice of dye until the seat covers are saturated.
Repeat for darker colors. Once your seat covers are completely dyed, rinse with water, remove rubber bands and let dry. Machine wash before use.
