Since many people travel in their cars daily, it is common for stains of all types to develop on upholstery. Stains often go unnoticed, allowing them to set in the upholstery for days, weeks or even months. Set stains are more difficult to clean than fresh stains, but you still can remove them with certain solutions. Keeping your car clean not only makes it more pleasant to ride in, but also is better for your health.
Vacuum the upholstery with a vacuum attachment to remove loose dirt from the area. Trying to remove the stain without first removing loose dirt will cause a mess.
Spray carpet and upholstery cleaner evenly across the entire stain. Rub the stain vigorously with a micro-fiber pad.
Allow the cleaner to set into the stain for five minutes. Blot the upholstery until dry with a micro-fiber towel.
Inspect the upholstery for remaining stains. If some of the stain remains, repeat the entire process.
