How to Remove Dried Salt From Auto Interior Carpeting

Winter has a way of not only wreaking havoc on the outside of a car, but the inside as well. With salt all over the roads and sidewalks it's difficult not to track it into the car. Salt dries and hardens onto the carpet, leaving an unfortunate stain behind. It's a good thing that dried salt is so quick to remove.

Things You'll Need

  • Vacuum Vinegar Clean cloth
  • Scrape away all pieces of salt and vacuum well, leaving no residue behind.

  • Mix equal parts warm water and vinegar in a spray bottle.

  • Spray the affected area with the mixture thoroughly.

  • Place a dry clean cloth over the affected area.

  • Remove the cloth when it is completely soaked.

  • Repeat if necessary until all traces of the salt are gone.
