How to Tune With Apexi Power FC

Engine tuners and automotive racers sometimes turn to standalone engine management systems like the Apexi Power FC to manage the operating parameters of their engine. By changing some of the granular settings of your engine's software, you can help it create more horsepower and optimize its operation for any upgrades and modifications that you've made to your engine.

  • Turn your Apexi PowerFC on while turning the key in your ignition to the "accessories" position so the car's electronics are turned on, but the engine is not running.

  • Press the "Monitor" button to bring up the menu where you can tune parameters such as air temperature, air flow meter voltage, default engine operating RPM and the engine's knock sensor. Adjust these values so that they compensate for any changes introduced by other engine modifications.

  • Press the device's "Setting" button to tune parameters based around fuel enrichment, turbo boost pressure and ignition mapping. Additionally, the rev and idle settings can be modified. Change these values to give your car more boost, if it's equipped with a turbo, or modify the amount of fuel that''s delivered to the engine if you have installed engine components that result in a richer fuel consumption.

  • Complete the tune by pressing the device's "ETC" button. Modify parameters such as the device's LCD display properties that adjust the brightness and level of the backlight to match your interior's lighting.
