How to Flush a PT Cruiser 2003

The Chrysler PT Cruiser was launched in 2001 and is a blend between a van, hot rod and compact car. Defined by its unique looks, the car is often used as a practical family runabout. Flushing the radiator is a relatively simple process if you know how to maintain a car properly.

Things You'll Need

  • Garden hose
  • Water supply
  • Ensure that your radiator is drained. Push the end of your garden hose into the radiator and turn on to flush the system. Wait while the water goes through the system and monitor the clarity of the water; once clear, turn off the hose.

  • Use a chemical cleaner as recommended by your Chrysler dealer to remove scaly deposits. Ensure that the radiator is not damaged or rusted through. If it is, it will need to be repaired or replaced by a professional.

  • Detach the overflow hose from the Chevy's recovery reservoir before draining the reservoir and cleaning it with water. Reattach the hose once completed.

  • Shut and tighten the radiator drain. Ensure that it is fixed back into place tightly.

  • Fit the block drain plugs back into place and ensure that they are tight.

  • Ensure that the heater temperature control is set to its highest heat setting.
