How to Remove BA Falcon Door Trim

The BA Falcon is a full-size vehicle produced by Ford Motor Company of Australia. It was only produced from 2002 to 2005. Door trim is the thin plastic piece that runs the length of the car, parallel with the ground. It helps to protect the vehicle's doors somewhat from dings and dents but mostly it is there for decorative purposes. You can remove the trim yourself from home by purchasing a trim removal tool and a heat gun.

Things You'll Need

  • Heat gun
  • Chamois or soft cloth
  • Trim removal tool
  • Turn on the heat gun and allow it to heat up. This should take about five to ten minutes.

  • Run the heat gun very close to the trim in a back and forth motion but don't touch the trim. This will loosen the glue underneath it.

  • Use the chamois or soft cloth as a buffer between the car door and the trim removal tool by setting it underneath the trim. Slide the trim removal tool under the beginning of the trim and work your way to the other end, prying off the trim. Hold the trim in your other hand and pull it away from the vehicle as you pry it off with the tool.
