You can install chrome trim on your vehicle to give it a custom look. Some cars come with chrome molding but you can add it to any vehicle. The chrome trim can be installed on the sides and front of the vehicle. The first thing to do before you install chrome trim is to remove the old regular trim. You just need a few simple hand tools and about an hour of your time to do this job.
Remove the bolts from the stud plate behind the front fender using a flathead screwdriver.
Pop the truck and remove the bolts from the stud plate using a flathead screwdriver.
Remove the moldings from the front and back of the vehicle by pulling them off.
Pop off the side moldings with a flathead screwdriver. These moldings are held in place with rivets.
Pull out the rivets with your fingers and drill the holes wider using a 1/8-inch drill bit.
Put the chrome molding on the doors and fenders. Iinsert the new rivets through the chrome and into the doors and fenders with a rivet gun.
Put the stud plates back and tighten with a screwdriver.
