How to Replace a Camaro's Signal Light

The Chevrolet Camaro's signal lights notify other drivers on the road when you are about to make a turn. The Camaro has front signal lights and rear signal lights, and the procedure to replace the lights is different. The front signal lights are stored inside the headlight case, while the rear signal lights are stored inside the tail light case.

Things You'll Need

  • 3457NA (front signal lights)
  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • 3157K (rear signal lights)

Front Signal Lights

  • Shut down the Camaro's engine and open its hood. Inspect the area behind the lighting case. You'll see a plastic duct. Push together the tabs on the side of the duct and push it rearward to give you room to replace the signal light.

  • Identify the signal light. The signal light is the outer bulb in the lighting case on either side. The middle bulb in the case is the headlight. Push the tab and unplug the connection from the back of the signal bulb.

  • Turn the signal bulb socket counterclockwise. This unhooks it. Pull it backward to remove it.

  • Insert the new signal bulb into the lighting case. Hold it by the socket; don't touch the bulb glass. Turn it clockwise. Plug the connection into the new bulb.

  • Push together the side tabs on the duct, and then pull the duct back into position.

Rear Signal Lights

  • Open the Camaro's trunk. Look on top of the lighting assembly. Remove the three retainers with a flat-head screwdriver, then pull off the plastic cover.

  • Turn the rear signal bulb counterclockwise to remove it from the rear lighting case. The rear signal lights are the bulbs on the outside edge on either side. Grasp the bulb and pull it away from the socket.

  • Insert the new bulb into the socket. Replace the socket and turn it clockwise. Place the panel back on top of the lighting case.

  • Replace the three retainers and close the trunk.
