Location of the Fuel Filter in 2007 Subaru Impreza

Your car's fuel filter is a critical component of the automobile's fuel delivery system. This is a small device, usually inserted on the fuel line which filters contaminants out of the fuel before it goes into the fuel injectors or carburetor. The fuel filter requires periodic replacement or service. Finding the location of the fuel filter can be challenging on some vehicles as many owner's manuals do not include this information. On the Subaru Impreza, it is not difficult to find the filter if one knows where to look.

Where is the Fuel Filter on a 2007 Subaru Impreza?

  • Park the car, set the parking brake and open the engine hood.

  • Look into the engine compartment to the right of the engine (driver's side). Locate the wheel well (the cover which is over the front tire).

  • Locate the strut tower which is the top of the strut suspension. It protrudes through the wheel well at sticks up above it.

  • Locate the fuel line which is mounted to the strut tower. The fuel filter is mounted on the fuel line in proximity to the strut tower. It is a small cylindrical component, about 1.5 inches in diameter and 3-4 inches long (usually either black or silver) which is attached to the fuel line. One end of the filter is attached to the fuel line coming from the tank, and the other end is attached to the fuel line going to the engine.
