How to Replace a Chrysler Sun Visor

Replacing a the sun visor in a Chrysler is not one uniform process. Depending on the brand, model, and year, the visor may be wired. This might be the case if the visor itself contains any electrical components like a lighted mirror that draws electricity from the car, not an independent set of batteries. Replacing a visor without wiring is fairly easy; wired visors, however, can become a nightmare depending on the specific model of Chrysler.

Things You'll Need

  • Drill with screwdriver attachment

Unwired

  • Remove the screws at the base of the visor.

  • Pull the visor from the base and discard.

  • Insert the replacement visor into the base.

  • Drill the screws back into the mount.

Replace Visor (Simple Wiring)

  • Remove the screws at the base of the visor.

  • Pull down gently.

  • Examine the wiring. If there is an easy plug connection, disconnect it. If all you see is wiring running into the side or roof panel, screw the visor back into place and consult your manual. A plug-like wiring connection may be in the side or roof panels. However, you may not want to go through the work of removing either panel and not find a connection.

  • Connect the wiring to the new visor.

  • Insert the visor into the base, and drill the screws into place.
