How to Reset the Tire Pressure on a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix

The 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix has a tire pressure monitoring system that uses sensors to monitor the air pressure of each tire. When one of the tires is detected as being low on air, the tire pressure warning light is illuminated on the control panel. Once the tire is repaired or inflated to the proper pressure, the tire pressure sensors must be reset. The tire pressure monitor also needs to be reset if the tires are rotated or replaced.

  • Insert the key in the ignition and turn it to "On." Don't start the engine. Press the options button until the Tire Inflation Monitor System is displayed on the menu. The options button has a small "i" graphic on it.

  • Press the set/reset button to reset the system. The set/reset button has a graphic of an arrow pointing left on it.

  • Press the set/reset button to exit the menu. Remove the key from the ignition.
