How to Remove a Sequoia Headlight

When your Toyota Sequoia headlights fail, you won't be able to drive at night. If they burn out while you're driving, your visibility could be dramatically affected immediately. The type-9004 headlights that the Sequoia takes can be purchased from most auto-parts stores. The Sequoia uses a headlight housing that helps to disperse the headlight beam pattern across the road rather than focus it. For this reason, it's important that you purchase the correct headlight replacement or you will not have optimal visibility with the new headlight.

Things You'll Need

  • Flat-head screwdriver
  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right.

  • Remove the two screws and the retaining clips on the front of the fender well that hold the inner fender liner in place.

  • Pull down the inner wheel liner and fold it gently behind the wheel.

  • Unplug the power connector from the back of the headlight bulb. The headlight bulb is the top-most circle/bulb.

  • Remove the spring clip from the back of the headlight with your fingers and pull the old headlight out.
