Changing the transmission fluid in a Subaru WRX is a necessary step in auto maintenance. Learning how to do this can save you a trip to the local mechanic's shop. The process is simple and will only require about 30 minutes.
Raise the front of the Subaru WRX about a 1 1/2 feet off the ground using the car jack.

Loosen the bolts of the transmission and allow the fluid to drain into the oil pan. Return the bolts and washers after you have cleared the fluid from the transmission.

Fill the transmission with transmission fluid. The amount will vary depending on the model of your Subaru WRX. It is important to check the capacity of your transmission in your car manual if you are unsure.
Dip the dipstick into the opening and check that the fluid has been filled to the notched mark in the dipstick. Add additional fluid as necessary.
