How to Replace Jetta Headlight Bulbs

The Volkswagen Jetta requires a single bulb that will act as a bright and dim light, and it fits behind the lens of the headlight housing. Safe driving depends on visibility, and with both headlights working efficiently you will expand your range of sight and be prepared for anything that can happen, especially on a dark road. The amount of time it takes to change a bulb is minimal.

Things You'll Need

  • Headlight bulb
  • Open the hood. Locate the headlight bulb within the lens.

  • Remove the cover from the back of the lens by flipping the clamp down with your hand.

  • Unscrew the retaining ring with your hand to loosen the bulb from the housing.

  • Install the new bulb. Tighten the retainer ring to seal the bulb to the housing.

  • Return the cover to the back of the lens; it should clamp back on smoothly.

  • Turn on the headlights and check to see if the light is working on dim; then try the brights. Close your hood.
