How to Replace the Headlights in a Mitsubishi Eclipse

Being able to do routine maintenance on your Mitsubishi Eclipse will save you time and money. Some of the pride of owning your own car is being able to take care of it. When you learn to repair your car, you are able to take care of something that a mechanic will charge you an arm and a leg for. Changing the headlights on your car is a simple task that can be accomplished fairly easily.

Things You'll Need

  • Replacement Headlamp 60/55W H13
  • Open the hood and find the front headlamp assembly.

  • Depress the black tap holding the harness connector to the headlamp assembly. Pull the connector toward you to remove it.

  • Turn the bulb assembly counterclockwise and remove the headlamp from the car.

  • Check the new bulb against the old bulb for an exact match. The wattage and rating should be the same or the headlamp may not work correctly and could damage the vehicle.

  • Insert the new bulb into the assembly and turn clockwise.

  • Reconnect the harness connector by firmly reinserting it into the back of the assembly.

  • Turn on the headlamps to check the alignment of the replaced bulb.
