How to Reset the Alarm on a 2006 Toyota Corolla

The 2006 Toyota Corolla compact car comes with an alarm system that warns those nearby of a possible theft. The alarm is activated when the doors are opened without being first unlocked by the Corolla remote. Once it is activated, you can reset the device by turning the alarm system off and then rearming the alarm system using the remote. The wireless remote comes with three buttons: "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons and a "panic button."

  • Press the "panic button" on the back of the Corolla remote to shut off the alarm. You need to be within three feet of the Corolla for the remote to work.

  • Press the "Unlock" button twice on the remote.

  • Open the driver's door on the vehicle to make sure the alarm has be deactivated, then close the door again.

  • Press the "Lock" button twice on the remote to lock the door. The alarm will be armed again. If you have all the doors closed and do not open one within 30 seconds, they will lock automatically and the alarm will be armed again.
