As noted in the Warranty and Maintenance Guide of the 2011 Toyota Tundra, regular maintenance is essential to keeping the Tundra safe and reliable, and detailed records of these services should be kept, as it may impact what Toyota will and will not cover under its New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Toyota recommends service schedules based on mileage milestones of the 2011 Tundra model.
At 5,000 miles, Toyota recommends that Tundra owners inspect and adjust all fluid levels, replace the engine oil and oil filter, rotate the tires, check on the installation of the driver's floor mat, and visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs for signs of wear. The services scheduled at 5,000 miles should be repeated at 10,000 miles, 20,000, 25,000, 35,000, 40,000, 50,000, 55,000, 65,000, 70,000, 80,000, 85,000, 95,000, 100,000, 110,000 and 115,000 miles.
Tundras with the 5.7-liter engine use non-synthetic engine oil, and the oil and oil filter should be replaced during each of these services. Alternatively, Tundras with a 4-liter V6 or 4.6-liter V8 engine use synthetic engine oil, and the oil and oil filter only needs to be replaced at 10,000 mile intervals rather than the 5,000 mile intervals for Tundras that use non-synthetic oil.
In addition to the services performed at the 5,000 mile service point, recommended services at 15,000 miles include cleaning the cabin air filter and to re-torque the propeller shaft bolt. It is also recommended that the following items be inspected: ball joints and dust covers, brake lines and hoses, the engine coolant, exhaust pipes and mountings, the radiator and condenser, the rear differential oil, the steering gear box and steering linkage and boots. The propeller shaft on four-wheel-drive Tundras should be lubricated at 15,000 miles, and the drive shaft boots and the front differential oil should be inspected. The services/inspections scheduled at 15,000 miles should be repeated at 45,000 miles.
In addition to the services performed at 15,000 miles, recommended services at 30,000 miles include replacing the cabin air and engine air filters. The following items should be inspected at 30,000 miles: the automatic transmission fluid, fuel lines and connections, fuel tank band and fuel tank vapor vent system hoses and the fuel tank gasket. The transfer case oil should be inspected on four-wheel-drive Tundras at 30,000 miles.
This service is similar to the 30,000 mile service, but drive belts should also be inspected at this time. The services/inspections scheduled at 60,000 miles should be repeated at 90,000 and 120,000 miles.
This service is similar the 15,000 mile service, but drive belts should also be inspected at this time. The services/inspections scheduled at 75,000 miles should be repeated at 105,000 miles.
