How to Remove Glue From a Car's Plastic Dashboard

Typically, the dash on vehicles is made out of plastic, making it simple to clean when removing dust or dirt. However, you can spill glue onto the dash while possibly fixing a crack or other damage to the dash. If you don't notice the glue until it has already dried, use a few household items to remove the glue from a car's plastic dashboard.

Things You'll Need

  • Dish soap
  • Rag
  • Cotton balls
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Mix dish soap in a bowl of water and dampen a cloth in the mixture. Wring out the excess water.

  • Place the cloth over the glue and let it set for a few hours. This helps loosen the glue from the plastic dash.

  • Rub the now-damp glue off with a new, clean cloth.

  • Dip a cotton ban into rubbing alcohol and dab at the glue if the wet rag did not remove all of the glue. The alcohol softens the glue. Once the glue begins to soften, rub it away with a clean cloth.
