How to Change the Headlight in a 2003 Saturn L

The Saturn L series automobile was designed with safety and reliability in mind. One of the features of this car is easy access to the headlights for replacement. This task should only take a few minutes to complete, and you will have full visibility of the road ahead. The Saturn L uses a double filament bulb that is designed with the dim and the bright light installed. This saves time and money, when replacing the headlight, as it is in one self-contained unit.

Things You'll Need

  • 9007 dual filament replacement bulb
  • Paper towel or tissue paper (optional)
  • Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the headlight assembly along the front corners. There will be a wiring harness connected to a socket.

  • Insert the wiring harness into the plastic end of the new light bulb. The harness will click into place.

  • Screw the headlight into the lens assembly. Twist it clockwise until it locks into place.

  • Turn the headlights on to ensure they work properly. Switch to the bright beams to ensure they are functioning correctly.
