How to Change the Fog Lamp Bulb in a Nissan Murano

Changing the bulb in the factory fog light assembly on the Nissan Murano requires removal of the inner fender protector to access the bulb. Removing the fender protector from under the wheel well involves removing several screws and a few clips. The bulb, an H-4 halogen, is available from the Nissan dealer, most auto parts stores and some department stores with large automotive sections.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Flat screwdriver
  • Turn the wheel of the car so that the front of the tire is pointed to the center of the car. This will provide the highest amount of clearance under the wheel well to work.

  • Locate the two mounting screws that secure the fender protector to the front of the fender near the bumper. Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Locate the four retaining clips along the inner edge of the fender protector and remove them with a flat screwdriver.

  • Pull the fender protector down and locate the fog light assembly on the back of the bumper. Release the locking tab to unplug the wiring harness connector that is attached to the back of the bulb.

  • Turn the bulb counterclockwise to unlock it and remove it from the housing. Install the new bulb into the housing and turn it clockwise until it locks in place. Plug the wiring harness connector into the light bulb and push it in until it clicks.

  • Push the fender protector back into place and reinstall the four clips, pushing them back in to lock them. Install the two mounting screws on the front edge of the fender protector and tighten them with the Phillips screwdriver.
