How to Change the Tail Lights on an Astro

Tail lights provide a warning to other drivers as to when you are stopping and when you are turning your Chevy Astro Van. To help ensure the safety of others and yourself, you must maintain working tail lights throughout the life of your van. This is not a complicated job, nor is it costly or time-consuming.

Things You'll Need

  • Screwdriver
  • New light bulb
  • Open the trunk of the Astro van. Locate the tail light covers in each corner of the trunk behind the tail lights.

  • Remove the securing screw that connects the cover to the frame of the trunk. Remove the cover to expose the light housing.

  • Pull the light housing off of the frame to expose the tail light. Remove the light bulb by pulling it out of the fixture.

  • Place the new light bulb in the fixture. Replace the light housing on the frame and replace and tighten the screw that holds it on.

  • Pump the brakes to make sure that new tail light works properly.
