How to Clean Golf Cart Vinyl Windows and Enclosures

Golf cart vinyl windows and enclosures have a dual purpose---to protect you from the elements when you use the vehicles and to protect the golf cart from dust, dirt and debris. Like other pieces of equipment on a vehicle, you need to clean your golf cart's vinyl windows, trim and any enclosures regularly to keep them dust and dirt free. You don't need special cleaner to properly maintain your golf cart's vinyl windows and enclosures, just some soap and water.

Things You'll Need

  • Water hose with sprayer
  • Bucket
  • Dishwashing soap or automotive car wash
  • Warm water
  • Soft nonabrasive cloths
  • Plastic container or small bowl
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Paper towels
  • Spray the golf cart's vinyl windows and enclosures with water. Flood the windows and enclosures to remove any loose dust and dirt.

  • Fill a bucket with 1 tbsp. of dishwashing soap or automotive car wash.

  • Agitate the soap mixture by shaking the bucket from side to side.

  • Dip a soft nonabrasive cloth into the bucket of soap mixture.

  • Wipe the golf cart's vinyl windows and enclosures with the soap mixture-soaked cloth. Wipe the windows and enclosures gently to reduce scratching the surfaces.

  • Spray the vinyl windows and enclosures clean with water.

If stains are still present, apply the soap-mixture to the stain and let it set for 10 minutes before wiping the stain gently with the nonabrasive cloth. Then rinse the area with water.

  • Spray the entire golf cart with water at least four times to flush off any soap-mixture, dust and dirt.

  • Dry the vinyl windows and enclosures with a clean, dry nonabrasive cloth.

  • Fill a plastic container or small bowl with 3 tbsps. of white vinegar and 2 tbsps. of cold water.

  • Soak four paper towels in the plastic container or small bowl of vinegar. Wring out excess vinegar.

  • Wipe the vinyl windows with the vinegar-soaked paper towels to remove any streaks.
