Honda Odyssey Maintenance

Vehicle maintenance programs are generally provided at intervals of mileage or time, depending upon whichever comes first. Honda provides the following minimum maintenance requirements aimed at keeping the vehicle's performance. However, you must keep your vehicle in top condition to maintain its overall resale value.

Every 3,000 Miles (Three Months)

  • Honda recommends a 3,000 mile maintenance program that includes checking the power steering fluid level, checking the transmission fluid level, changing the engine oil and changing the oil filter. It is a good idea to check the coolant level, brake fluid level, windshield washer fluid level and tire pressure to make sure all are in the proper condition.

Every 7,500 Miles (Six Months)

  • Every 7,5000 miles, Honda first recommends performing all maintenance activities associated with the three month or 3,000 mile point. In addition, Honda suggests an inspection of the wiper blades and all hoses under the hood. A check of the battery, engine drive belts, cooling system and front disc brake pads is also needed. Finally, the tires must be rotated every 7,500 miles.

Every 15,000 Miles (12 Months)

  • Honda suggests that a series of maintenance activities be performed annually or every 15,000 miles in addition to the 3,000 and 7,500 mile checks. The 15,000 mile maintenance includes an inspection of the brake system, fuel system, suspension, steering components, driveaxle boots, valve clearances and exhaust system. The engine air filter should be replaced and the rear differential and transaxle lubricant levels should be checked.

Every 30,000 Miles (24 Months)

  • The 24 month or 30,000 mile maintenance includes replacement of the spark plugs and wires, fuel filter, radiator cap and hoses, distributor cap, PCV valve and rotor. The engine idle speed depending may also need to be adjusted. Multiple fluids on your Odyssey need to be changed, including the brake fluid, manual transaxle lubricant and transmission. Finally, the cabin air filter should be changed. The 30,000 mile maintenance activities should also include all activities from the previous three, six and 12 month maintenance programs.
