The Oil Change Capacity of a 2008 Ford Escape

Competing with the likes of the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 was no easy task, so Ford gave buyers plenty of options to choose from on the 2008 Escape. Among these options were two engines. The base engine was a 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 153 horsepower, and the optional engine was a 3.0-liter V-6 with 200 horsepower. These engines not only varied in displacement and output, but they also had different oil capacities.

Engine Oil Capacity

  • If your 2008 Escape has the 2.3-liter engine, then it requires 4.5 quarts of oil to fill the engine. With the 3.0-liter engine, the Escape needs six quarts to fill the engine. Always check the oil level on the dipstick after filling the oil, as the amount of oil your engine requires during an oil and filter change may vary slightly, depending on how much oil drains from the engine.
