What Oil Viscosity Goes in a 2003 Chrysler Sebring?

The inland section of Florida, between Orlando and Miami, may not be a world-renowned tourist destination, but every year the little town of Sebring plays host to a world-class gathering of cars. Named for the 12 Hours of Sebring endurance race, Chrysler's trademark mid-size car has developed a reputation for endurance befitting its namesake -- provided owners keep up on maintenance and use the correct engine oil.

Oil Specs

  • Chrysler recommends changing your 5 quarts of oil every 6,000 miles instead of the usual 3,000 miles. They also recommend a full synthetic, which is what allows you to go so long between oil changes. Synthetic is also vital for V-6 owners, as the 2.7-liter is notorious for developing engine sludge problems. Most drivers will use the standard 5W-30 synthetic, but 0W-30 is an option for drivers who live in colder climates and need a thinner oil for the winter.
